Teen driver education starts here
At 16 you start with a special learner permit, arranged through a licensed driving school, and six hours of behind-the-wheel training. We take care of it with you — from the paperwork to the last of your six hours.
- Help with the permit paperwork and the knowledge and vision tests
- Six hours of behind-the-wheel training in our dual-control car
- Practice tips for the 50 supervised hours (10 after dark) that come next

Adult lessons at your pace
Whether you have never driven, learned in another country or simply need confidence back, we start where you are — quiet streets first, then traffic, highways and parking.
- Pickup from home or work, early mornings and weekends too
- Lessons of 1 or 2 hours, booked when you are free
- A plan for your road test when you are ready

Get road-test ready
A focused lesson on exactly what is tested — parallel parking, the three-point turn, backing up and smooth stops — and our school car for test day.
- Warm-up lesson before your test
- The school car, insured and test-ready
- We drive you there and back

Calm refresher lessons
Nervous drivers and returning drivers are our everyday students. We go slowly, explain everything and never rush you onto a highway before you are ready.
- Patient, private and judgement-free
- Practice the routes you actually drive
- Highway merging and parking when you are ready

Why Internet Driving School
We teach you to drive — not just to pass a test
Since 2005 Internet Driving School has taught new and returning drivers across Union, Essex, Morris and Passaic counties. Our lessons are private and unhurried: one student, one instructor, and a plan built around what you need to practice.
We encourage students to drive at different times of day and in different weather, so the first rainy night or snowy morning after your test is nothing new. The goal is a safe driver for life — the road test is just one stop on the way.
- Patient, encouraging instruction — nervous drivers welcome
- Pickup and drop-off at home, school or work
- Lessons seven days a week, including evenings and weekends
- A special package for 16-year-old new drivers
- Certificate of achievement when you complete your course
- Military discount — just ask when you call

What students say
Patient teaching people remember
Real words from our students — collected on our previous website.
I had a nice and friendly instructor. He prepared me very well for my test — always encouraging, patient and on time. He even worked on a Sunday just for me. I’m glad my friends recommended Mr. Cham.
With the help of God and Internet Driving School I was able to accomplish one of my goals and my New Year’s resolution: I passed my driving test! Thank you so much, Cham — you are a great instructor!
Internet Driving School is the school to go to. Cham is a great instructor. He had patience with me and taught me different methods to pass the test.
Internet Driving School is amazing. The instructor Cham is patient and gives you the confidence you need to drive — I felt like my dad was teaching me. His parallel parking technique was simple and on point, and I nailed it on my road test. I recommend this driving school to anyone who wants to learn to drive.

Driving lessons FAQ
How old do you have to be to start driving lessons in New Jersey?
You can start at 16 with a special learner permit, which is arranged through a licensed driving school together with six hours of behind-the-wheel training. From 17 you can get a regular examination permit and take lessons at any age after that. See teen driver education.
Do you pick students up?
Yes. We pick you up and drop you off at home, school or work anywhere in our service area — Union and Essex County, and parts of Morris and Passaic counties.
How long is a driving lesson?
Most students book 1-hour or 2-hour lessons. Beginners often like 1 hour to start; students preparing for a test usually prefer 2 hours so there is time for highways, parking and test practice.
Can I use your car for my road test?
Yes. We bring our insured school car to the test site, do a warm-up with you beforehand and drive you home afterwards. Only the examiner rides with you during the test itself. Road test help & car.
Do you give lessons on weekends?
Yes — we teach seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays. Call 908-686-2225 to find a time that suits you.
How many lessons will I need?
It depends on your experience. After the first lesson we tell you honestly where you stand and suggest a plan. Some students need a few test-preparation lessons; complete beginners usually need more.
Can you guarantee I will pass my road test?
No honest driving school can promise that, and we never will. What we do promise is patient, thorough teaching of every skill on the test — and of the habits that keep you safe afterwards.
Do you offer a military discount?
Yes, we offer a military discount. Just mention it when you call.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice and we will move your lesson to another day at no cost.
